Ok, I am back to tell you all about the trip I went on this past weekend. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate my friends birthday with her family & 2 friends, I was one of them. =)
Friday afternoon we left around 3:00 or 4:00 maybe and started heading toward Ashland where we would be picking up her sister from college (Randolph-Macon College). Traffic was back up because of an accident at first so it took us almost 1 hour to get to Williamsburg. But, once we past that, it was smooth sailing from there. I do not recall what time it was but we picked up her sister from her dorm in good timing. We went after that to Chic-fil-a to eat dinner. That was a very interesting experience. Because the guy behind the counter was kinda well..."dorky" I guess and was flirting with all the girls that he took orders from...it was interesting I must say. From there we went straight to Cabin Creekwood which is in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Waynesboro & that's where we stayed. It's such a nice place. We stayed in Cabin Dogwood which was so cute & very nice. We didn't arrive until around 10:00 and we settled in and got some of our stuff unpacked. Us 3 girls decided to stay up & we watched The Devil Wears Prada, which is a pretty good movie. It was after midnight by the time it was over so we headed to bed.
Saturday morning I got up around 9:00 or so we had a really nice breakfast which consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, & fruit. It was quite good. A great way to start off the morning. For a while we sat around & just talked and chilled out and began getting our snow gear & stuff on around 12:30 so we could leave by 1:00 to go to Wintergreen. On the way to Wintergreen it as kinda scary cuz we were in a van going up the mountain when we really needed 4-wheel drive, but we made it ok. The snowtubing was so much fun. We did a full 2 hours of it...and we could connect with a friend & go down the hill together...Jessica & I stuck together the whole time and it was a blast. At first I thought it was going to be scary but I had nothing to worry about.
Aferwards we came back to the cabin & took our showers which felt so great because of all the energy we had burned up. For dinner we had hamburgers & french fries. We then just chilled out & sat around talked, joked, & laughed. Later on we decided to watch the movie, Hitch & made Smores. Yummy!! It wasn't too long after that we hit the sack. Sunday was just a day of getting ready, packing, & heading on home.
It had actually started snowing at around 3:00 am on Sunday morning so we woke up to snow on the ground but it soon turned to rain or sleet. We were able to make it home safely though. It was not bad enough to keep us there any extra day which I would not have minded at all.
Well, I guess that is pretty much a good explanation of the trip. All in all...we had alot of fun & I did not want to leave. We are going to have to go again. That would definately would have been a great co-ed trip. I'll have pictures up as soon as I possible can.
God Bless,
Christine
